Design of the utility infrastructure developed for the second segment of Domodedovo passenger terminal in Moscow has been confirmed to comply with the relevant state laws and requirements by RF State Expert Design Evaluation Agency (GlavGosEkspertiza). Our Asteros colleagues made sure to reflect all unique architectural features, functional requirements and potential for integration of the planned systems with the existing infrastructure.

Domodedovo terminal expansion project is based on an architectural design concept called UNDER ONE ROOF: a common terminal allowing for the best use of the transfer potential offered by the air hub. The new terminal facilities will be built in the north-eastern part of the airport.

The planned utilities must ensure uninterrupted operation of all key airport activities, and SIGNY GROUP – Design Manager of the Project – delegated the design of utility systems to Asteros. According to the plan, a large infrastructural complex covering 240 000 sq. m. will inlcude a local area network with communications system, public address system, community antenna television, surveillance, access control, security alarm system, sound recording and radio communication systems. The design includes fully automated controls for the utility infrastructure of the new airport areas.

The planned complex will be enabled by a new structured cabling system with over 4,000 ports based on Siemon equipment (US).

The design of low current systems for the expansion of Domodedovo terminal facilities is a continuation of the long standing cooperation with this country’s leading airport.
